April 2019 brought our first annual Au-some Family Fun Day & SpectRUN 5k/10k Trail Race.  Our day started with a home-cooked pancake breakfast that was enjoyed by young and the young-at-heart.

Runners hit the trail in the fun and challenging 5k/10k race.  Our race, unlike any other, incorporated various sensory activities as we celebrated Autism Awareness Month.  Our zones included a snow zone, color zone, and a bubble zone.  Later in the day, these zones were opened up for all to enjoy.  As you can see, we had so many smiling faces that day!

The Au-Some Family Fun Day was our first community event, and it also served as our first official fundraiser.  We raised nearly $20,000 for CARES and Camp Appalachia!  With the help of our amazing community, we will be able to host Family Summer Day Camps for children with special needs.  Thank you all for CARING!
